The Rise and Fall of German Language Radio in the US

I was reading through the August 15th edition of Radio World http://www.rwonline.com/ and stumbled across this article http://www.radiogoethe.org/conpresso/wissenswertes_e/detail.php?nr=3954&kategorie=wissenswertes_e

German Radio Remains strong in southeastern Wisconsin, the launching of Breakfast Mit Hans is proof of that.

This year Continental Showcase did on-air give a ways of over 125 German fest tickets, 150 polish fest tickets and 20 Arab world fest tickets.... if you were in the studio and watched how crazy the phones are when i call out for caller 15 you would be surprised!

When your a winner we ask for your birthday so when you pick up your prize the station can verify who you are, this year we got birth years in the 50's, 60's and even 70's! This is great news for the show and listeners it means that we are attracting younger listeners and the show will go on!
